What I Do at the Counseling Center Heading link
· Provide oversight for the outreach and community engagement program and participate in Counseling Center leadership team
· Provide psychoeducation and resources to staff and faculty as well as both undergraduate and graduate students at UIC
· Supervise staff
· Attend meetings with UIC and community partners on how to strengthen outreach and engagement efforts
What to Expect When Working with Me Heading link
As a clinical social worker, I believe in building equitable systems that address the needs of diverse communities. This is successful by building community with those around you and by bringing knowledge to resources that are available. I engage with others with the goal of building strong relationships that lead to open communication and trust. I focus on strengths-based and client-centered approaches in therapy, fostering a safe and supportive environment. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify patterns that were developed from
past experiences and re-evaluate those emphasizing self-compassion and relationship building.

In my free time, I enjoy cooking, exercising, reading, exploring the city, being with family and friends, and snuggling with my two cats, Kylo and Loki. My favorite parts about being in Chicago is biking by the lakefront in the summer, exploring the different neighborhoods, and trying new restaurants. I love to travel and will always be on the lookout for great coffee and donut shops.
