What to Expect When Working with Me
I believe that therapy is a collaborative process in which emotions, thoughts and behaviors are to be understood in every individual’s unique contexts (e.g., developmental, familial, societal, cultural, environmental, etc.). I also believe that healing and changing comes from connecting and understanding. At the same time, I recognize that it is inherently uncomfortable and vulnerable to be open to sharing and growing. Thus, in therapy, I strive to create a compassionate and empathetic space where it is safe to be curious, observe, reflect and grow. I take an integrative approach to therapy. Although I tend to gravitate towards ACT, relational theory and developmental systems theory, I have been trained in CBT, DBT and other psychodynamic theories; I have also gained exposure to RO-DBT. Given each individual’s needs and responses, I would tailor and adjust treatment to integrate appropriate techniques or approaches from the aforementioned modalities. I hope that we will have the opportunity to work and grow together!

About Me
I was born and raised in China. I moved to the U.S. over a decade ago to study psychology. Outside of work, I love music, horror movies/TV, video games, and creating and crafting (painting, embroidery, creating nail art, and building miniatures). I also love walking and exploring different parts of the city (with a focus on cute stores and good food), and traveling when I can.
